Camp Opens in 8 Days!

6/16/2021

As Garth shares in this video, we are eagerly awaiting campers to return to our shores in just eight days! Camp is looking great, the lake is warming up, and all of our fun activities and traditions are waiting in the wings. This will no doubt be a Timanous summer to remember.
The counselors have begun to arrive, and it’s been wonderful to see so many old friends reunite at Timanous. As one put it, "It brings me joy to be back at camp, because it feels like a return to how things are supposed to be. It's comforting and refreshing to discover camp was the one thing that hasn't changed."

The typical pre-season rituals are well underway - setting up the cabins, putting in the docks and, most importantly, learning and reinforcing how to be the best counseling staff possible!

An Important Note for Alumni
Having alumni visit camp is always a highlight, but unfortunately we won't be able to host visitors when camp is in session. Many of our campers will be unvaccinated, and this policy plays an important role in providing them a safe and healthy summer. Please reach out if you would like to stop by after camp closes on August 12th.
It is a particularly exciting time because we are coming back to camp after closing for the first time in our more than 100 year history. As mentioned in past communications, the financial impact of our off year was significant, and led us to energize our fundraising efforts under the banner of Rise, Camp Timanous to come back stronger than ever. We have seen tremendous progress to date, and are grateful for this incredible support.

The amount remaining to complete the Second Century Campaign will take a collective effort from our community, but we have exciting news to share that will help us reach our goals...

Major gift match announced

To help us cross the finish line, a generous donor has promised to match all gifts, dollar for dollar, up to a total of $750K.
  • $300K of this total has been raised thus far.
  • If we raise the remaining $450K, it will all be matched and we will reach our goal!

Learn more about the campaign here.

We hope you’ll consider being a part of this transformational opportunity for Timanous to serve all within our camp community, now and long into the future.

GIVE TO TIMANOUS

"Why I Give"
Polly Wall, whose son, Livy Coe, was a camper and counselor for 15 years

The Timanous summer camp experience for my son was positively transformational, year after year. This is true for every Timanous family I know. I am extremely proud of the man Livy is today, and I credit camp as an essential influence in his development. I will be forever grateful to the staff and all who have contributed, in so many ways, to creating and maintaining this extraordinary place.

It gives me great pleasure to be able to give financial contributions to support Timanous so that more families can provide their boys with this same transformational experience. For me, there is no better cause than one investing in children learning to become compassionate, responsible, confident adults willing and able to contribute their unique gifts to society. Giving to Timanous is a way to do just that.
