Rise, Camp Timanous...

5/6/2021

...to reopen in 2021!

Picture
We are beyond excited to welcome back campers and staff to Panther Pond for the 104th summer at Timanous, after 22 months of quiet wooded paths and still waters.

While some things may look a bit different with the necessary Covid precautions, our hallmarks will stay the same: living together in a natural, rustic setting, growing in independence and confidence, setting and achieving goals, and making lifelong friends, among many more.

Stay tuned for more news and exciting updates. As we gear up for summer, we’re mindful of maintaining our strong heritage of fostering the growth of body, mind and spirit for all. As Jeanette Michael, a parent of recent campers and a current counselor, said:

"Timanous played a significant role in helping us to raise happy, healthy, kind and positive young men. We all treasure the experience and reminisce on it often."

Rise, Camp Timanous...
to complete our campaign

Last year, we paused our Second Century Campaign in order to effectively steward camp through our 2020 closure. It was clear that our original $5M goal would not allow camp to recover and urgently pursue our nonprofit mission in a moment that demands nothing less.

In order to fully realize our nonprofit vision, we aim to:
  • Grow the Sandy Tattersall Fund to $2.5M to double campership support for our Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) commitment
  • Raise $2M total in the Timanous Fund to build financial resilience and address key infrastructure and capital needs

In late 2020, we quietly sought additional funding from trustees and other close supporters in our Timanous family. Through extraordinary generosity, we have successfully recovered from closure and are able to announce our increased goal of $7.3M!

Over 500 alumni, camper parents and grandparents, and many other friends have given gifts of all sizes. We need everyone’s help to reach the finish line so we can celebrate together after the summer.
