The Al Furniss LegacyAs some of the elders in our community will remember, Al Furniss was a beloved counselor at Timanous in the summer of 1968, who died tragically in a motorcycle accident on his way home after camp. A scholarship fund in his name was founded immediately thereafter. In 2019, on the 50th anniversary of his death and the fund’s inception, there was a commemoration of Al and the thousands of donors who contributed to the fund, as well as the hundreds of boys who received its support. A plaque now proudly hangs in our Barn in honor of the Al Furniss Scholarship Fund. |
