It is with great pleasure that we announce the addition of two new Trustees to the Board. Please welcome Jeanette Michael and Bruce Wimberly, both of whom have a long history with Timanous, as you will see below. Jeanette and Bruce bring important perspectives to the work and deliberations of the Board. Adding their voices and skills reflects camp’s commitment to inclusive and well-grounded governance. Welcome, Jeanette and Bruce! Jeanette MichaelJeanette is a long-time Operations Manager at New York Blood Center, a community-based nonprofit blood bank. Her connection to Timanous stretches back to 2010 when her sons, Javin and Jaear, started as young campers. Fast forward eleven years and Javin is now a veteran counselor! She lives in Yonkers, New York and enjoys being a mom most of all, but because her sons are now young adults, she has resolved to dedicate her time to helping others, especially children. She is an active member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., a service based organization. She also volunteers in her local neighborhood and is most proud to help with "The Little Library" which sits on a corner and houses free books for anyone in the neighborhood to take.
Bruce WimberlyBruce was a camper and counselor at Timanous, starting as a Hawk in 1976 and staying on as a counselor through 1986. He currently oversees equity strategy at Eaton Vance WaterOak Advisors, a financial advisory firm. He holds a Masters in Business and Education and assisted in the development of an urban elementary charter school. Bruce enjoys coaching youth sports, running, and golfing. He lives on the South Shore of Massachusetts with his wife and three children. View a list of all members of the Board of Trustees here.
