The Campaign for the Barn "At a Glance"
What We're Doing
The Barn is our most treasured gathering place. Every day, we join together under its roof to break bread, share exciting stories from past and present, and revel in the collective history of camp. It is a never-ending time capsule of great memories and lifelong friendships.
To ensure it remains the heart and hearth of camp, the Barn is undergoing major renovations throughout 2024 and 2025, and it will be ready by summer 2025. We will be rebuilding the kitchen and creating more space for dining and activities, all while strictly maintaining the Barn's traditional character.

We will be rebuilding the kitchen and creating more space for dining and activities, all while strictly maintaining the Barn's traditional character.
The funding for the project is structured in four phases, three of which have been completed:
- Phase 1 - We allocated $2 million of our funds raised during our Second Century Campaign towards the project's $2. 75 million cost, which includes modestly increasing the Timanous Fund for future Barn improvements and other maintenance.
- Phase 2 - Several generous camp families established a $250,000 match pool, doubling every donation until we reach $2.5 million.
- Phase 3 - We raised $250,000 through a one-to-one match established in the previous phase.
- In Phase 4, the current and final phase, we now have $220,000 left to raise. Recently, the trustees partnered with an anonymous donor and together created a $110,000 match pool to close the funding gap. In essence, we need to raise another $110,000 to fully complete this campaign.
Why We're Doing It
We believe it is time to upgrade this beloved building that has served us for over 100 years in order to provide a less crowded and more enriching summer experience for all our campers.
Rebuilding the Kitchen - The kitchen was built in 1950 to serve 130 people. With over 210 campers, counselors, and staff in 2024, we need to make the kitchen a better workspace, more efficient, and able to meet our food service capacity needs now and into the future.
Expanding the Barn's Footprint - We have no plans to expand the size of camp, but our numbers are far greater than when the Barn was originally built, and we require additional dining space. This expansion will make the dining experience less crowded and provide additional room for memorabilia along the increasingly crowded walls. Furthermore, a wrap-around deck will be added to enhance its role as a place for open-air meetings, picnics, and activities.
We believe these major updates are the best way to reinforce the strength of our community while maintaining the unique culture, flow, and historic character of the Barn.

Your Impact
Timanous invites you to be part of the Barn's extraordinary legacy. The impact of your contribution will be felt every day by campers who enter the Barn to enjoy meals, immerse themselves in a shared history, and build bonds that last a lifetime.
Most importantly, your support will ensure the Barn remains the place where Timanous family, both past and present, can come together to make lasting memories and create a home away from home.
